Smooth setup, some IVR tweaks needed

I recently set up a new 888 Number with 800.com and also added IVR Auto Attendant and Voicemail to Email. The ordering process online was straightforward; I picked my number and plan pretty easily. Activation for the number itself was fast, within a few hours, which was nice. Setting up the IVR took a bit of fiddling on my part to get the menu options exactly right, but their support documentation helped me through it. I called once with a question about sequential ringing, and the representative was helpful, though I had to wait about 5 minutes to connect. The call quality for forwarded calls has been clear, and receiving voicemails in my email is super convenient. I haven't tried the Mobile App Access yet, but the web interface covers most of what I need. Overall, a good experience for what I paid.

Consistent service, easy renewal

I've used 800.com for a while now, mostly for the Call Forwarding and Business SMS. My latest renewal for the 800 Number plan was just as smooth as previous years. Never had any issues with service reliability, which is why I keep coming back. The features just work without fuss.

Good value for yearly plan

I was looking for a new number for my small business and checked out a few options. 800.com seemed to have the best deal when I chose the annual billing for my Local Business Number. Saved a good chunk compared to monthly. Activation was quick, and I got the Custom Main Greeting set up without any trouble. Definitely felt like I got my money's worth.

Thinking of switching to 800.com for my biz phone. Anyone know if they still do that 15% off for yearly plans? Trying to save a few bucks.

L Leah 1 month ago
Yeah, I signed up a few months ago for an annual plan and got that discount automatically. I think it's still their standard thing.

They pretty much always have annual discounts. I'd check their pricing page directly, it should show up there before you even commit.

Do these guys do a free trial? Don't want to commit if it's not going to work out for my customer service line.

M Michelle Thomas 6 days ago
I think they do, or at least they did when I signed up last year. Worth checking their site or asking their chat.

Yeah, I recall seeing an option for a free trial period. It's usually for a limited time, like a week or something, so you can test out the basic features.

Is 800.com better than RingCentral? Looking for something reliable but not overly complicated for a small team.

P Paul Jones 1 month ago
I used RingCentral before and found it kinda bloated for what I needed. 800.com felt a lot simpler to set up, especially for just a few lines and call forwarding.

It really depends on your features. RingCentral has a ton of stuff, maybe more than a small biz needs. 800.com is good if you just want solid call features and maybe some SMS without all the extra bells and whistles.

Can you port your current business number to 800.com, or do you have to get a new one through them?

H Hannah Scott 1 week ago
Yep, you totally can. I ported my old number from a different provider without any issues. They have a whole process for it.

Pretty sure they do number porting. Most of these services offer it, saves a huge headache from having to update all your contacts.

how long does it usually take to get an 800 number activated once you sign up? need it for a marketing push next week.

R Richard 1 month ago
Mine was pretty quick, like within an hour or two for a new number. Porting an existing one might take a bit longer though.

I got mine set up almost instantly after choosing the number. The longest part was probably picking out the actual number I wanted!
